Get inspired!

What should you know about me? I love the arts, and I love passing that on to children. I started to sing as soon as I could make a sound. I started writing stories as soon as I could write a sentence. I play the flute and guitar and piano. I’ve been knitting for over 20 years and crocheting for about 5 years. I’ve been working with and teaching individuals of all ages, from infants through adults, for over 20 years.

Nothing is more inspiring to me than watching someone’s eyes light up when they have created something and they are proud of it, whether that something is a poem or a connection with others.

What are my goals?

  • Provide high-quality creative arts programming for children, teens, & families

  • Inspire the creative potential in every individual

  • Create a sense of community to inspire, nurture, and support each other

I can’t wait to stir up a bunch of creativity!

Kristin Kummer is the creator and director of Kids Create Collective. She is a board-certified music therapist and worked with individuals on the autism spectrum and various other diagnoses ages 3 years old through adults. Before that, she was a teacher of early childhood music and movement. Before that, she earned a M.A. in English literature from Middlebury College’s Breadloaf School of English in Middlebury, Vermont, and B.A.s in both music and English literature from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. And through that long journey, she learned the art of writing curriculums, managing groups (that she fondly refers to as “controlled chaos”), and the fine art of creating a community of individuals in different disciplines and across ages.

Currently, she keeps a home with her abundantly patient husband, Ron, her sassy-sweet daughter, Rosie, and their spoiled rescue beasts, Winifred the Dog and Bianca the Cat. Kristin loves to cook and bake, read, obsess over the music of the 90s (the best music era!), listen to podcasts, make music, & knit and crochet.
